Magnetic Drive Replaces Traditional Shaft Sealing

viking mag drive

Viking Mag Drive magnetically couples the pump to the driver to eliminate shaft leakage and the need for mechanical seals. Magnetic force passing through a stainless steel canister drives the inner coupling thereby eliminating the need for shaft seals. Transfer difficult-to-seal or EPA-regulated fluids without electronic monitoring safely. The torque carrying ability of high strength magnets allows pumps to be coupled with gear reducers for slow speed handling of viscous liquids

Viking Advantages

  • Reduces Expenditures
The Mag Drive eliminates the costs of mechanical seal repair and replacement, the costly electronic monitoring of EPA-regulated fluids, and the 'accepted' losses in expensive liquid applications
  • Increase Productivity
By eliminating mechanical seal downtime, the Mag Drive increases operating time for greater productivity

Applications

  • For hazardous and expensive liquid applications
  • For applications involving liquids which crystallize at seal faces
  • Transfer applications, such as top unloading of trucks or rail cars
  • Whenever mechanical seal maintenance is problematic
  • For pumps in hard-to-reach locations

Standard Options

Internal Gear
This efficient pumping principle provides for a trouble free service life and a low shear pumping action

External Gear
For a low capacity, high pressure transfer of fluid, the Viking spur gear principle delivers a quiet, low ripple, non-pulsating flow to satisfy both industrial and mobile needs

External Gear VI-CORR Pumps
These units are ideal for metering or low capacity transfers of toxic or expensive liquids
