Wear of radial bearings can effect both the rear and front bearing, evenly or unevenly. Due to the operation of the thrust balance system the thrust bearings usually do not wear, wear occurs only if the pump is operated outside its operating limits. Due to bearing wear or operation outside its defined operating range, the rotor changes from its normal position. This variation is detected by 8 probes at the stator. The signal is processed and indicated on coloured LED's.
The indication is progressive: green (good) - yellow - (caution) - red (stop)
The indicator is visible through a sight glass in the cover of the terminal box. The bright LED's show the state of the bearings and the axial position of the rotor. Also a power on lamp and indication for reverse rotation are installed.
In addition to the local indication, remote indication is possible. For this purpose a 0 to 5V or alternatively a 4 to 20 mA signal is available. |
