Overview

Micropump high performance magnet drive gear pumps provide precise and pulseless positive displacement pumping and leak-free operation.  Micropump gear pumps are available in a wide range of chemically resistant materials and can be coupled with multiple drive and motor options, making them the ideal pump for many low flow applications.

This unrivalled range of pumps, combined with the variety of available options, allows users to specify a pump which is tailored specifically to their application.  All models have magnet drives, so there is no leakage of the process fluid giving users the benefit of reduced environmental, health and safety and chemical handling issues.  The external gear design provides the benefit of a smooth, pulse-free and highly accurate output, so the distribution of the process liquid is even and constant, as opposed to more unpredictable pulsed flows from other types of pump.

The output of the pumps can be adjusted by altering motor speed while control options depend on the motor/drive specified.  These include 0-5 VDC or 4-20 mA or RS232 automatic control.

Micropump magnetically coupled external gear pumps incorporate two main pump designs:

Cavity Design

Cavity style gear pumps feature a conventional design that uses gears rotating within a precision cavity to carry fluid from the pump's inlet to the outlet.  Benefits of the cavity style pumps include excellent lift capability, moderate pressure capability, high system pressure on selected models, and exceptional chemical resistance.  These pumps deliver accurate metering for a wide range of precision applications and offer fewer wearing parts, easy installations, and user-friendly operation.

Suction Shoe Design

Developed by Micropump, the revolutionary suction shoe pressure loaded gear pump design features a 'suction shoe' that allows the pump to self-compensate for wear.  Suction shoe pumps maintain high volumetric efficiency, even at elevated pressures.  In addition, by reducing the parts needed for operation to a minimum, the suction shoe design minimises downtime and simplifies servicing.  Additional benefits include near zero slip for more accurate metering, longer life and better performance as pump components wear or thermally expand, and good chemical resistance.

As well as 12 series of extermal gear pump, Micropump also offer the CA Series of leak-free magnetically coupled stainless steel centrifugal pumps for high flow/low head applications.
