Field of Application
Circulation of solvents in the chemistry and photo industry, pumping of toxic liquids in chemical industries, circulation in block circuits. The static shroud forms a closed system with hermetically sealed liquid end and ensures a service with zero leakage. As shaft sealing is eliminated no maintenance is required. Owing to its self priming construction, the pump can be mounted on top of vessels. Risk of leakage at connections below the liquid level and necessity of expensive vertical submersible pumps is therefore out of question. Maximum allowable temperature is 200 deg C.
Impellers
The star shaped side channel impellers are placed on the pump shaft, axially movable. This excludes occurrence of axial loads. Power transmission between shaft and impellers is effected by key. Axial thrust is hydraulically balanced by relief bores.Bearing
The pump shaft is immersed in the pumped liquid and carried in slide bearings of Silicon CarbideSuction & Pressure Disks
The suction and pressure disks are sealed against the atmosphere by chambered gaskets.
Flanges
The WPM pumps are available in PN6 with oval flanges as well as PN64 with NPT connections.
Magnetic Drive
The single elements of the multipolar magnetic coupling are manufactured of a permanent magnetic material 'Cobalt Samarium'.
The outer magnet - connected with the drive shaft - passes motive force through the stationary isolation shell to a bank of internal magnets. That means, outer and inner magnets are connected by their magnetic flux, working as a synchronous coupling and transmitting the required driving power to the pump shaft. The nominal power of the magnetic coupling is designed such that overload is excluded even when operating against closed valve. The maximum transmissible torque is 8 Nm.
