When pumps are supplied as a pair, then typically they act as duty/standby for an application. For this project however, the units selected will run in parallel (50% of the required flow each) to achieve a total flow rate of 180 m3/hr vs 80 m differential head. These Finish Thompson heavy duty mag-drive centrifugal pumps coupled to 37 kW, 2 pole, tropicalised motors are from the excellent UC series and are ETFE lined, which means they are chemically resistant to the handled liquid, ensuring zero leaching into the sensitive process. This is a critical requirement as these pumps are transferring de-ionised water in a system for hydrogen generation.
