We offer a wide range of pump solutions for chemical applications, but when it comes to low-flow, high-pressure duties, our go-to choice is often a Hydra-Cell multi-diaphragm pump from Wanner International. In this project, the pumps were required to transfer a range of difficult to handle chemicals including Potassium Hydroxide, and flammable solvents such as Toluene and Cyclohexane. This combination demanded a pump that was not only chemically resistant and ATEX rated for hazardous area use, but also capable of delivering flow rates from 2–20 lpm at discharge pressures of up to 32 bar. Our solution was four Wanner Hydra-Cell seal-less triplex diaphragm pumps (G10 model) in stainless steel, close-coupled to 3 kW, 4-pole ATEX Zone 2 motors - providing reliability, safety, and performance in a demanding chemical environment.
