Those who know their pumps should be able to identify a self-priming centrifugal. If you REALLY know your pumps you will recognise the two below as being from the very excellent Finish Thompson SP series, specifically the SP22P-35 mag-drive model with polypropylene casing. These mag-drive pumps are close coupled to WEG 7.5 kW 2 pole motors giving a flow rate of approximately 35 m³/h. As is common with self-priming pumps, these units are destined for removing contaminated wastewater from a drainage sump. Given the variety of contamination levels and types of fluids being pumped, using chemically resistant and durable pumps like the SP series is a practical choice. The seal-less design of these pumps is particularly suitable for applications involving corrosive or potentially hazardous fluids, such as acidic, or strong alkali solutions. A petrochemical company needed a cost effective solution for pumping out contaminated rainwater from sumps and bunds. The application was made more challenging as the type and concentration of the contamination of the could vary depending on rainfall and production schedules. Therefore a pump was required that could handle a wide range of pH levels. As the pumps would have to operate automatically, it was essential that they could self-prime reliably, without operator intervention. A pump requiring minimal service was also a key requirement. Finish Thompson SP series model SP22P-35 complete with 7.5 kW, 2 pole, 400 volt, 3 phase, 50 Hz, IP55 IE3 motor. |
