Bornemann

Twin Screw Hygienic Pumps

Founded in 1853, Bornemann were the first to market a Twin Screw Pump, and are now an established worldwide leader in innovative pump development with over 15,000 installed pumps worldwide.

In 2004, Bornemann introduced the hygienic SLH design of Twin Screw Pumps for the Food &
Pharma industries. As well as being an ideal pump for hygienic applications involving viscous products, the Bornemann Dual Purpose Twin Screw SLH-5G pumps can also transport low viscosity cleaning liquids such as water, detergents or cleaning liquids. This means that for many situations, an additional pump for CIP cleaning processes is not required.

SLH-5G

SLH-5G

Bornemann SLH-5G Twin Screw Pumps are rotary positive displacement pumps, using two screws to convey the product along the screw axis. The contact free, intermeshing screws and the housing form closed chambers, constantly moving product from suction to discharge.

SLH-3G and SLH-4G Ranges

SLH-3G and SLH-4G Ranges

The SLH-3G and SLH-4G series of twin screw pumps have been superceded by the SLH-5G range, but they are still available to order if necessary.

However, we would recommend the SLH-5G series as replacements. The SLH-5G offers considerable benefits over the previous ranges. Such as significantly easier cleaning and maintenance, and 35% increase in flow for the same size pump.

Why choose Bornemann Twin Screw Hygienic Pumps?

Bornemann Hygienic Dual Purpose Twin-Screw Pumps are self-priming, double ended positive displacement pumps with external timing gears and bearings. Their design provides complete axial balancing of the rotating elements and eliminates all metal-to-metal contact within the pump. They can handle virtually any non-homogeneous fluid, regardless of viscosity, lubricity or abrasiveness. While pumping there is no metal-to-metal contact within the pump housing. This allows good pumping performance even with non-lubricating and corrosive and contaminated fluids.

Features of Bornemann Twin Screw Hygienic Pumps

As the pump rotates, the intermeshing of the two screws along with the pump housing form chambers. These chambers fill with the pumped fluid and move it from the suction side of the pump to the higher pressure discharge side of the pump.

The pump is designed to allow for reverse flow by simply changing the shaft direction. The suction becomes the discharge and vice versa, all without any modifications to the pump.

  • Hygienic design with CIP/SIP compatibility
  • Can be used for both product and CIP liquid, removing need for seperate CIP pump
  • Capable of handling high viscosities and solids
  • Low pulsation for gentle product transfer
  • Self-priming and dry running capability
  • Suitable for high-pressure and high-temperature applications
