LIQUIFLO POLYGUARD SERIES PUMP MODEL P5UPPEE310BEB-8(149) FOR PUMPING CORROSIVE LIQUIDS

For many years Michael Smith Engineers Ltd has been in partnership with companies working at the forefront of alternative and green energy. The Liquiflo P5 Poly-Guard external gear pumps shown below are the latest example of such a cooperation. Magnetically coupled to 4 pole inverter rated WEG motors, these Liquiflo Poly-Guard pumps have a chemically resistant fluoropolymer lining and are our favoured choice for pumping corrosive liquids such as inorganic acids and salts. The liquids in this case included de-ionised water, NaCl brine and lithium brine delivered at 1.4 m³/hr at up to 4 bar differential pressure. The latter fluid gives away the link to green energy as these pumps are being used for a lithium extraction process. Lithium is of course a key element in modern lithium-ion batteries as used in electric vehicles. Although the majority of lithium is produced in Australia and South America, we are delighted that these pumps are destined for a lithium mine located a lot closer to home.
